Our Story
Founded by our international community of practitioners and thought leaders, PASS is a global strategic consultancy partnering with a variety of stakeholders around the world to achieve shared global goals. We inhabit the gap between the thinkers and doers in the field of social impact in order to achieve shared social good at this uncertain time in human history—with the aim of passing into a better future.
Our world today is faces myriad global challenges: inequality, climate change, nuclear proliferation. In order to address these global challenges, we need our actions to be founded on sound analysis of the global trends that connect and affect us all. Likewise, our ideas must be backed up by effective action. We live in the most prosperous and technologically advanced era in human history, and we have a bright and positive future ahead of us—but we also face major challenges that threaten our ability to reach that positive eventuality for all. Our shared positive future must be continuously pursued through thoughtful strategy, effective execution, and measurable impact.
This gap between thought and action, within the global trends framework, was the impetus for PASS. Founded in 2014 by our international community of practitioners and thought leaders, PASS is a global strategic consultancy partnering with a variety of stakeholders around the world to achieve shared global goals. We inhabit the gap between the thinkers and doers in the field of social impact in order to achieve shared social good at this uncertain time in human history—with the aim of passing into a better future.
To accomplish this, PASS collaborates with nonprofit organizations, NGOs, social enterprises, philanthropists, bilateral and multilateral agencies, and others. We offer our Partners and Clients integrated consulting Services in three practice areas: Strategy & Governance, Programmatic Consulting, and Resource Generation. VantagePoints, the thought-leadership platform of PASS, features long-form interviews and analyses from leaders in social impact. And our coworking space, PASSworks, convenes a community of social impact actors at our offices in the Washington, D.C. area.
To do this work, we rely on the PASS Community. Our Community comprises the core PASS Team, who have a cumulative 60 years of cross-sectoral experience in international development; PASS Executive Directors, experienced high-level leaders in international affairs who strategically guide our work; PASS Advisors, who provide oversight based on deep experience in a range of fields; and PASS Fellows, a selective cohort of emerging leaders and young practitioners in global social impact. All of us are united by a principled commitment to the values and ideas of the PASS Approach.
